This is "Enlightened Living?"

File under: Wackadoo Gurus

A reader sent a link that has left us speechless:
Re-united for the first time ever since the end days of Atlantis to be of service to mankind during this crucial time in our collective history. Wisdom Teacher Sri Ram Kaa and Angelic Oracle Kira Raa know that each being is Sprit [sic], Eternal, Omniscient and Whole. They are co-creators with your awakening; familiar old friends, guides along YOUR perfect path. Come back to who you are! Free the illusion of pain, fear, doubt, anger, guilt and shame. It is time to Embrace your Freedom.

The re-unification of Wisdom Teacher Sri Ram Kaa and Angelic Oracle Kira Raa resulted in an expansion of energy and consciousness creating a direct connection with the Angelic Realms. As Divine Oracles, (99% accurate), they offer the Prophecy of the “Atlantean Promise” and have brought back to the planet the activation of mastery through the “Codes of Self-Ascension”. Gifted with the energies to offer Fifth Dimensional Activations, (and beyond), directly from the Archangels, they prepare others to expand their energy for their own unique path. The Loving initiations, “Star Activations”, and the lessons of the “Codes of Self-Ascension”, bring forth your soul’s true purpose.
But not so speechless as to make us forget to whip out our tinfoil hat!

The real tragedy here isn't that nincompoops like "Sri Ram Kaa" and "Angelic Oracle Kira Raa" exist, it's that the world is full of numbskulls capable of believing in this pabulum composed of the infantile projection of their ridiculous beliefs. Our work will never be done, and with this 2012 "remember how well the Harmonic Convergence went" nonsense headed our way, the craposphere this bullshit comes from is only going to grow thicker and stinkier.

YOUR perfect path! Come back to who you are! They may be from Atlantis, but they tuned in pretty fast that you can't be a used-spirituality salesman in the 21st century without making a strong appeal to people's narcissism.

Did you really need to read any farther than the world 'Atlantis' to get a clue this was clueless tripe?

I get spam emails from these folks all the time, mostly pushing their "new" material about 2012, which is the new Harmonic Convergence and Y2K all in one. Like you said, the work is never done.

I blogged about them a while back:

(Delete line break from link, of course... I still haven't learned how to insert an active link into these comments. In case the link doesn't work, it's the Sept. 9, 2006 entry.)

I agree with you, Jody... the craposphere is only gonna grow thicker and stinkier.

PS - I got a private email a while back from a person who works for these folks in a non-crapslinging capacity. The person thinks they are very, VERY strange...

Their acronym - TOSA - seems so appropriate.

What amazes me is that this is exactly the same kind of stuff that's been selling since the 19th century - angels, initiations, Atlantis, etc.

Hey, maybe it's all true?! After all, thousands of satisfied customers can't be wrong, can they? :)

I think there's lots of serious discussion that could be had around this though. I think one of the main things is that in these sorts of things you are seeing the "priestly con trick" naked and unadorned. IOW, this is exactly the sort of twaddle that, with a bit of excellent organisation and perhaps a bit of a more plausible intellectual backup (with enough intricacy to keep geeky types entertained), has started all the major religions.

Given enough balls and charisma on the part of the "priests", you can see how in a situation of relative lack of education, ignorance of the world around you, you could be taken in by this sort of thing, if you lived in some little tribe or village or farm somewhere.

The world is a harsh place sometimes, and it's easy to see how one could emotionally latch onto anybody who seemed charismatic enough, who made you believe they had a hotline to How Things Work.

I say this to point out that, while a lot of people into non-dualism often say that there's non-duality at the root of many of the world's religions, it's actually more likely that the roots are junk like this, and what happens is that someone accidentally has a non-dual insight or understanding, and attributes the intellectual terms set up by these kinds of con-tricks to their experience or understanding.

(i.e. they say they "became God" or "became one with Krishna" or whatever, because it's the only thing in their vocabulary)

The point is, one shouldn't grace religion, the "sociological glue cum con-trick cum-primitive cosmology" phenomenon too much with being rooted in non-dual understanding and experience. For the most part these are two distinct phenomena.

What I'm trying to figure out is what's so special about bein from Georgia. Now if they were reunited since Austin, I could get with that!

That's Atlantis, Chuck, not Atlanta, Georgia... Maybe you should loosen your loin cloth...

YouTube? You mean now I can witness the newage silliness firsthand? This was too much to pass up.

I don't mind your garden variety guru usurping Hinduism, Sihkism, Christianity etc for their own distorted ego. What gets me going are newage gurus who preach a mishmash of peace, Krishna, love, St. John the Divine and happiness Devi.

I read someplace along the way and its a quote from somebody else. "All spiritual paths ultimately lead to the same place. However cherry picking the beliefs that serve your momentary needs builds ego. The goal of the spiritual path is the transcendence of the ego." or thereabouts.

These two represent the worst of the Marin/Sonoma Axis of Drivel.

feh!

I just read a piece at rawstory.com saying that arrest warrants have been issued for Richard Gere and that Bollywood chick. I guess they could get up to six years in an Indian jail for smooching in public.

To quote Parasanger - "Marin/Sonoma Axis of Drivel" - is hilarious.

Why is it that these "Western" gurus ALWAYS dress in "Eastern" garb?

Do all old hippie gurus have to have long white hair with a receding hairline?

For once I'd like to see one of these enlightened beings wearing Levis Dockers and a polo shirt. You know, enlightenment for the rest of us.

See for example

http://www.einterface.net/gamini/maitreya.html

This web page purports to show pictures of Christ's appearance in 1988... but it doesn't tell us which one of the people in the photo is the Messiah!

How the hell are we supposed to know if He's the stately bearded guy dressed in white, or, say, any one of the African woman kneeling on the ground?
