U.G. Obit

File under: Real True Gurus

Here is a recent obituary for U.G. Krishnamurti by someone who was close to him. Even as he was about to expire, the dude remained true to the truth 'til the end:
UG did not show the slightest signs of worry or fear about death or concern for his body even at the end of his life. He did not leave any specific instructions as to how to dispose of his dead body. ‘You can throw it on the garbage heap, as far as I am concerned,’ he often would say.
If we had a few hundred U.G.s around, we might be able to shovel away all the mind-disabling sewage the big-time fame whores poop out on to the world. We're talking about you, Sri Sri, Sai Baba, Kalki Bhagavan, Ammachi, Maharishi and all the other delusion factories polluting the world with their self-aggrandizing bullshit.

As it is, a valiant solder in the war against spiritual ignorance has fallen. God help us all!

Do you know, or has anyone drawn a connection to, UG and the original anti-guru K, Jiddu Krishnamurti? From what I've read here about UG it sounds as though he's adopted much of J. Krishnamurti's "truth is a pathless land" attitude. J Krishnamurti certainly helped me put the whole guru and meditation business in perspective in my youth. He had the whole typical guru role handed to him, and ultimately rejected it and spoke out against following anyone, spoke of the need for each individual to be their own guru, and so forth. I haven't heard anyone from that tradition put it better than he did, until I read some of what has been posted here about U.G. Krishnamurti. I suppose I'll have to look into UG now to see what he's all about. Thanks for enlightening me, as it were, about him.

Please do not insult the spiritual teachers. You are not forced to follow anyone, it is not good to make fun of what others respect. This is my personal request.

Both from the same southern state of Andhra Pradesh in India(incidentally where kracki and saibaba comes from too).
UG went to JK in search of wisdom etc in the 60's and prior to that visited ramana maharishi too.

There was certainly quite a many encounters between both in the 70's which are a hearsay and undocumented. But known in india inside the gossipmills of the guruwatchers. UG became popular when some of the sanyasins dropped out of rajneesh(osho)and dropped in at UG in the late 70's. They were a bollywood bunch. That put UG more prominently on the guruscape in the early 80's.
JK and UG belong to similar regional, religious, cultural background. Even the hairdo and the appearance can be strikingly similar. The only difference is
JK was aggressive in his expression while UG was violent.

UG banged the table once when i asked a obviously irritating question, if "he was enlightened".
He banged the glass top table with his right hand palm facing and abused everyone in that room for the next 10 minutes non stop.

Poor folks in the room, because of my stupid irreverential question, everyone got the abuse. Such profound memories...

Opinion noted, request denied.

It is not good to delude people with fables of magic power and delusions about the nature of self-realization, so I make fun of these folk in an effort to expose their true motives.

"... do not make fun ..."!? Why our Gurus are affraid of "fun"? In fact one world "Nobel Prize" crazy, copycat guru wrote and tells "God Loves Fun". Hey respected disciples, dont disrespect your own guru's words.
If you have no simple patience or tolerance to take "FUN", I have to suspect (no to respect) the strength of your "IN". That's what we tell, no so called gurus can make you. You have to make youself. That's the way. Listen to all your so called Gurus - but always keep the "KEY" in your own hands. It's your LIFE. YOU are the MASTER of it. No dead or living Guru's experience can fit into your LIFE exactly, for you are not a utility commodity. Your are unique. That's the way of the Existence. All our true Masters tell the same truth, never they bush around or play "business" with the gullible innocent people. Please understand, it's not just respecting others or others' views, it's putting the things in the correct perspective too, so that people are not fooled in the name of "magics" and "nirvana" stuffs like that.
